Periodic reinvestigations are conducted to assess the employees actions during a certain period of time. These searches cover areas that employees would not be required to report to their employers. Periodic reinvestigations would normally look at areas that could become company trouble areas such as drugs or alcohol in the workplace, sexual
harassment, internal theft, etc.
Specific investigations on employees for positions of trust or financial responsibility are needed to ensure the applicant for that position has the capabilities and honesty needed for such a position. Normally searches in this area cover the criminal and educational history of the individual in a more in-depth investigation.
